Oh! Had I Jubal's Lyre

Handel, George Frederick / Marlatt, David
Oh! Had I Jubal's Lyre
This originally was an aria for soprano and strings, but for this arrangement the lowest voice is featured throughout. The remainder of the ensemble performs the string parts, supporting with a steady idiomatic Baroque pulse. With some ornaments already included, this is a very successful feature. Oh! Had I Jubal's Lyre is arranged for interchangeable woodwind ensemble by David Marlatt.

Eternal Source of Light Divine

Handel, George / Marlatt, David
Eternal Source of Light Divine
Eternal Source of Light Divine arranged by David Marlatt is a duet for soprano voice and trumpet. The solo trumpet part remains the same (also allowing for performance on natural trumpet) and the remainder of the ensemble performs the string parts, creating a blended sound by performing in cup mute throughout. The soprano line could be performed on a D trumpet (or piccolo) to make it an all-trumpet version.
